About

My name is Charles Max Wood. I discovered my love for programming while working for Mozy Inc. as their Director of Technical Support. At the time, our customer base and therefore our support request volume was climbing at an alarming rate. So, another technician and I began building a system to handle the email load. The framework we chose was Ruby on Rails.

After about a year and half of managing the Tech Support Department, I realized two things. I love coaching and helping my technicians—several of whom I am still in contact with—and I love programming. After a few more months, I decided that I wanted to move into programming full time.

Since then, I’ve played roles in Quality Assurance and Ruby on Rails Development. I’ve managed solo projects and development teams and I really enjoy the interaction with other developers. I’m constantly looking for new things to learn and new people to learn them from.

Let me Code

I love programming in Ruby. If you have a project that needs a little bit of help from an experienced hand at building Ruby on Rails applications. Feel free to look over my resume and give me a call or send me an email. Here are a few projects I’ve worked on.

Let me Coach

There are a lot of different ways to manage a project or a team. I’d love to come and see how you manage your development as well as offer solutions to your team management problems. I’ve studied XP and Agile Development practices and would love to interact with your team.
